On The Move (Again)
So, I've been at my (new) technology gig for about 9 months. Great people, and so far, so good on the work aspect, I suppose.
But I don't feel very settled. It still feels like I'm in a state of flux. We all know there are work mercenaries, those that take a job, any job, from the highest bidder, and are constantly on the move looking for the next big payday. But now, I'm going to coin the description "work refugee" to describe the positionally displaced. That's really how I feel. For space and organizational reasons, my desk is moving for the third time in the short period I've been here. There's certainly something to be said for having stability in your work environment.
Right now, I don't feel like I have a home.
But then again, should one feel like they have a home...at work? Perhaps all this movement will break me of my workaholic nature, maybe?
I don't know.

Hey Tony, don't feel bad about your refugee status. At least you're not like the guy in the movie Office Space who ended up in the basement...
Milton Waddams: [talking on the phone] And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire...
"Where's my stapler??"
Hey Tony,
It will be aight'! Although they keep changing your desk from place to place..just make sure in the moving you don't change (only for the better)! Ill come up and visit you sometime and remember you are just a phone call or a flight of stairs away. It will be like you never left. That's just to show you, don't get to lax in anyplace, you never know someone's next move!
