Reminiscing...
So, I put my iTunes on random, and it pulled out this jam from the Boys N Da Hood soundtrack, Tevin Campbell's "Just Ask Me To." (Download and Listen here). It took me waaaaay back...All the way back to 1991 (the end of sophomore year in college -- damn we're getting old), Back when Kelly G. (now of BET) was rockin' it, back before Tevin was getting caught up in pederasty, and performing fellatio in public restrooms.
Back when we were all a bit more innocent.
It features some very tight production characteristic of that new jack swing era of music, and cameos by Chubb Rock and the little-seen Al B. Sure.
This was a classic for real, that set off many a party at Norris Center on the campus of good ol' Northwestern University (Go U NU!).
Can't you just see people doing the Roger Rabbit and the Wop to this song??? Ah, the flashbacks...
