Clinton And The Dance Of Death

As we wind down the contentious Democratic primary battle, I've been particularly disheartened with the behavior of Hillary Clinton, a person that I (once) had much respect for. She's hellbent on winning the nomination, and if she can't win, she seems determined to make sure no other Democrat wins in the general election, either.

It's kinda like General William Tecumseh Sherman's "scorched earth" policy as he marched to the Atlantic from Atlanta during the Civil War from May through December, 1864. He waged total war against the Confederacy, as Clinton is waging total war against Barack Obama. And similarly to the late General Sherman, who today remains the "most despised person in all of the history of the State of Georgia," Clinton risks being forever labeled "the most hated person in the history of the Democratic Party," a title currently held by the present Commander-In-Chief.

Her mouth has been a constant home for her foot of late.

First it was her comments comparing the Obama campaign to the tragic Bobby Kennedy campaign of 1968, wherein Kennedy was assassinated on the campaign trail. Such comments gave license to everyone from the wacko down the street to the wackos at Fox UnNews to suggest the same -- that Obama might get rubbed out before he becomes  president. The latest to take that line of reasoning was commentator Liz Trotta.

Appearing on Fox News on Sunday, Trotta, a former editor with the Washington Times and reporter for the Chicago Tribune and Newsday, was asked by the host, Eric Shawn, about the Clinton controversy and the 2008 race. This led Trotta to refer to the Clinton misstep. She said, and I quote: "And now we have what some are reading as a suggestion that somebody knock off Osama, uh Obama. Well, both, if we could."

Next, Clinton has been stumping in Montana suggesting that Obama cannot win the presidency, that he is much more likely to lose than she in a general contest with Senator John McCain. And before that, she praised and placed herself in the same category as McCain -- at the expense of someone in her own party, the presumptive nominee or not -- stating that only those two had the qualifications to run the country.

Before her most recent crazy talk, she made what some would call blatantly racist appeals, insinuating that Obama, a man of mixed heritage, could not win with "hardworking white Americans," essentially labeling most of Appalachia racists, and bigots, and reaching into the trick bag of history, given our country's inability to escape fully the bounds of racial hate.

Her comments (delusional if you ask me) about being able to beat John McCain, when she doesn't hold a lead in either the popular vote, or the delegate count among Democrats even, makes me wonder whether Hillary is going to be an asset or a liability come November.

Think about this: Hillary Clinton is a political professional. She doesn't make mistakes like misspeaking. She doesn't make miscalculated statements. And worse, she doesn't repeat these statements if they were mistakes. Everything she's said and done over the past three weeks has been calculated, and it plays to the very worst of American history -- death, assassination, racism, and discrimination.

I simply cannot take this woman any longer.

She could care less about this country; she only cares about her own ambitions! It's so obvious to me now, like never before. While I was never a supporter of her run for the Presidency, I at least respected her, as being bright, tough, and poised. I thought she was interested in the best interests of the nation. But it seems to me now, more than ever, that she could care less that the Democratic Party is divided or that not only might the Dems lose, but we the people will lose in November.

She's desperate. And in her desperation, she's likely to drive a wedge between Democrats and embolden those of ill-will. And such behaviors may well cost Democrats the election.
